What is Point Injection Therapy?
Point Injection Therapy (PIT) is the injection of sterile botanical substances, such as herbal extracts, homeopathic medicines, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients into acupuncture points or painful areas (trigger points/ashi points in TCM). These injections aim to enhance and prolong the effects of the stimulation of acupuncture points. The injection of small amounts of medicinal/botanical substances obtains a dual effect of acu-point stimulation and pharmacological effect of the substance injected. It is also known as Acupuncture Injection Therapy (AIT) and Biopuncture.
